After completing a facility master plan for Messenger Public Library, Kluber Architects + Engineers is currently in the design phase of renovations to the library’s Youth Services Department. The goal of the project is to enhance the patron experience for children and parents. The proposed work will play off the space’s existing design features while addressing the needs of a 21st century library.

The renovation aims to provide a larger youth program room for more dedicated programming, a reconfiguration of the stacks for increased visibility throughout the department, additional individual technology stations for study and play, various seating styles for children and adults, an updated patron-centered information desk, and a dedicated staff work space to aid in planning and program development.

The project is on track for an anticipated start to construction in late summer 2014.
