Project Details

The Cole Center Administrative Office is a 72,000-square-foot facility that houses park, maintenance and administrative departments of the Fox Valley Park District. The project was an exercise in sustainable design for Kluber Architects + Engineers, an effort that received the Conservation Foundation’s Award for Sustainable Development.

Kluber Architects + Engineers developed the Cole Center from an existing industrial complex that was previously occupied by an automotive repair parts and industrial equipment provider. The rehabilitation embraced sustainability through adaptive building reuse and energy-efficient modifications. The facility’s design incorporated native materials like wood and stone to blend with its wooded location along the Fox River. The end result is a corporate center that personifies the Fox Valley Park District’s image within the community!
