Joliet Junior College – Building T Boiler Replacement

Renovation | Education | Higher Ed.
Project Details

In 2023, Joliet Junior College hired Kluber Architects + Engineers to provide design services to replace the existing 3,500 MBH hot water boiler located in the first-floor mechanical room of Building T. The outdated unit was removed and replaced with a high-efficiency, sealed combustion condensing boiler to improve energy performance, reliability, and system control.

Where space permitted, the design incorporated two boilers, each sized at approximately 70% capacity, to provide redundancy and improved load management. The heating system’s temperature controls were also upgraded as part of the project, with a new controller installed to ensure precise, efficient operation and improved system responsiveness.
