Project Details

The Lake County Health Department had administrative offices and health clinics spread throughout Waukegan, which proved to be inconvenient for members of the community and staff. Kluber Architects + Engineers designed a new facility that consolidated most of the Health Department’s administrative offices, along with various medical, dental and behavioral health clinic spaces under one roof.

The first floor was designated as the Community Health Center with a primary care clinic, dental operatories and behavioral health counseling suites. Administrative offices were kept separate on the second and third floors, along with the Health Department’s data center.

Sustainability was a major component of the project. Green strategies were implemented into the design of the facility, resulting in the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center receiving Energy Star certification.
