Kluber Architects + Engineers was hired by McHenry County to complete a review of a salt structure and overhead door at the McHenry County Division of Transportation facility.

The goal of this project was to review and replace the aging asphalt shingle roofing system. Our team conducted an initial review with a preliminary budget of the salt structure roof and overhead door to determine recommendations for replacement.

The asphalt shingle replacement had potential of combinations of ice and water shield or 30# roofing felt underlayment systems. Along with the salt storage structure needing its shingles replaced, the “Dog Houses” at the entranceway, salt conveyor and exhaust vent locations were also replaced.
