Spartan Events Center

Elgin, Illinois

The Spartan Events Center at Elgin Community College serves as a multipurpose athletic and event space that hosts sporting events, trade shows, concerts, and convocation ceremonies. It stands as the final piece connecting all but one of the campus’ buildings, while still providing a unique statement and serving as the focal point and gateway to the north end of campus.

Kluber Architects + Engineers orchestrated the 66,000-square-foot addition to the center. Design components of the addition included increasing that indoor seating capacity, adding three NCAA basketball courts, a suspended walking and running track with views to the main lobby and courts, fully-equipped fitness center, dance studio, locker rooms, and concession stands.

The newly remodeled Events Center unleashed a tidal wave of requests from outside entities to lease the space from the college for a variety of large-scale events.
