Project Details

The Henry Rockwell Baker Memorial Community Center was constructed in 1924. Since its inception, the facility has been used as a central meeting place, recreational functions, receptions and overall community meeting space.  Presently, the St. Charles Park District administrative staff operates out of the facility and partner’s with the Baker Center Board to maintain the Baker family’s intent.  It is the desire of the board to undergo a variety of capital improvements to the building including expanding ADA accessibility to each floor level, air conditioning at the first and second floors, expand the current office spaces, provide a canopy at the existing exterior ADA ramp to the lower level as well as incidental improvements and maintenance items.
