University and Business Center

Elgin, Illinois

The University and Business Center at Elgin Community College serves as a professional training facility for the college and community and includes an auditorium, training rooms, small group conference rooms, computer labs, a dining room and atrium space. Kluber Architects + Engineers performed a 34,589-square-foot interior renovation of the facility. Originally completed in the late 1980s, the building was in need of interior improvements in order for it to remain a viable source of profit for the college.

The interior improvements consisted of new carpet, wall paint, countertop materials and furniture. Each of the toilet rooms were updated with new counters, sinks and accessories. The training rooms and the auditorium were also outfitted with state-of-the-art technology equipment.

The entire project was completed in phases to maintain the University and Business Center’s operation schedule.
